If you scrap...check this site out...

This is a fairly new scrappy site that I believe will be a great place to hang out and purchase awsome product! Right now they are searching for their first design team. So, if you feel the desire to join one, be sure to apply here; http://www.createmykeepsake.com/forum/index.php

I haven't had much to say lately. I guess I can blame that on the busy holiday season. I will add some layouts I completed at Christmas time and maybe throw in a few cutie Chritmas photos. Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays! {hugs}

Fresh BG

The Hat!

Brody had his doubts about the santa hat after a few minutes. The initial trying on was great and his expression is priceless!

I've got the Christmas BUG!

I've started pulling out my Christmas decor. I think I will count my snowmen this year. I've been collecting them for a few years now and I've taken on a hearty collection. This is Brody's first Christmas and he is very curious. I have this feeling he will be climbing our trees! I'm about half done with my shopping. I haven't found as many 'deals' while shopping as I have in the past...bummer! It is still super fun to buy for loved ones.

I have a scrapping bug as well but I am not able to sit down and create just yet. I started a project about 3 weeks ago which entailed painting/reorganizing my scrap room. Well, the painting is ALMOST finished. I have just a bit of trim to finish off. I will share as soon as I am happy with the finished results. lol

November!

Wow, time is flying. I am November Guest Designer at Imagine, Create, Scrap! This will be an exciting month. I also was asked to be a DT member at Memories From Scrap, if you want to join some fun contests and challenges stop by! I still have my 'ties' at Creating Pages and always will. I loved being on their first team and miss it greatly. BUT, I still have to RAVE about this up and coming site....Scrapologie! It's growing fast and has the most amazing mix of talent. Very inspiring! VERY! Their gallery is perfect for any scrapper's block. Well, I didn't mean for this post to turn into an advertisement but I'm passionate about scrapping and right now these sites are important to me.

I guess I hadn't mentioned my camera woes but at the moment I am 'barrowing' my father's Olympus (that I don't know much about) and also using my 35mm camera. I miss my digital. It died on me about three weeks ago. I am doing camera research and hope to have a good, quality one by Christmas or I'm going to be a grinch! lol If you have any camera recomendations please leave them here for me. Thanks in advance.

My son is 7!

Just a quick pic of my son, Lake during his birthday party sunday.

Scrappy help with a PLUS!

That title makes you want to know more....doesn't it??? lol Well, I have recently found an awsome scrapping website with a FANTASTIC group of scrappers who are very caring, sincere, fun, outgoing, etc, etc, etc! Check it out and see for yourself - http://scrapologie.com/index.php What I am asking is that IF you join please use my name. I am trying to share this wonderful site while competing for a prize. If I can get 5 members to join, and post 5 times I will qualify. Now, I could have just talked you into joining and not tell you my motive but I also want you to join if you are interested in joining a great group of ladies. This up and coming site has a fabulous monthly kit club, contest, and an owner who is very active with the whole site! Can't wait to see you there!!! *scrappy hugs*

Good News!

I was asked to be on a DT. It was because another girl had to step down. I'm still excited!!! I'm also going to be a Guest Designer for another site but can't say just yet. I'm moderating for a scrapbooking site also. So....I'm rather busy now. Not too much else is going on around here. My middle childs birthday is coming up and we are celebrating this sunday with family and friends. Parent/Teacher conferences are starting soon. I never really have anything negative in that area, the kid's love school and do very well. My daughter is tyrying out for a christmas play. We will see how that goes next week. On another note, I got some fun new scrapping embellishments and can't wait to use them!

I'm feeling "scrappy"!

I just recently ended a term on a design team and thought I was taking a break for awhile but some things are coming up! I guess I got a scrapping bug due to the great fall weather. hehe I will share more soon on that. I have actually been scrapping up a storm lately. I have several layouts that I will be scanning soon.

Things are going good around here. I have been cleaning/sorting/re-arranging things around the house. For some crazy reason I have decided to switch my kid's rooms around. lol This entails painting! I think I bit off more then I WANTED to chew. lol I have a birthday boy that I need to get ready for. Lake will be 7 on Oct. 26th. He has been talking about this scooter that a friend down the street has. hmmm....ideas popping up! I gotta get shopping!

It's FAIR WEEK!

Well, I think I mentioned that my daughter made the grade school swing choir. We are very excited for her because tonight she has her first preformance on stage at our local fair. She had to dress in uniform for school today to practice for some classes.

Our pumpkins are cut and lit! We visited a farm and Sydnee, Lake, & Brody picked out their own pumpkin (well, Brody had some help). lol

Check back because there will be some FUN fair photos to share.

uugghhh the holidays...

yep, they are approaching. I've started christmas shopping. Nothing major, just picking up things here and there. My son has a birthday right before halloween. Then there is halloween, where I am conversing with my 9 yr. old daughter about her wanting to be something gothic. {rolling eyes here}. I believe we are going to start a new tradition starting this year. We will make a visit to the pumpkin patch this weekend. I've always just picked up my pumpkins and fall foilage at the local farmers market (which consists of a block long of sidewalk that local farmers set up their 'goods' between the hours of 8a-12noon, two days a week. I want some good memories for this fun holiday. Wow, I just realized that turkey day is coming! Do you ever ask yourself 'why we mostly eat turkey only on thanksgiving'? Sure I fix a turkey breast maybe once or twice a year otherwise but a great dinner like that...you would think we would want that more often. Ok, not that we NEED it. lol

Now, scrapping...I made this handmade matchbook for a offer to an online scrap friend. It's a surprise to her (unless she sees this before her package gets there). I've already started another one with some cute Junkitz papers.

geesh...where does time go?

ok, I've been slacking. I believe Fall is finally approaching. It has been in the 70's here the last few days. I'm soooo ready! Nothing too exciting going on here other then awaiting our annual city fair that is the last week of this month. Then there is halloween coming up...decision, decisions. What to wear, what to wear?! Tonight was a little scary, Sydnee has an accident on her bike at the park. Long story short, several other children were 'racing' through the park and she turned to look at another one and ran smack into a big tree. Eye witnesses said her bike actually was going up the tree! She is banged up pretty bad. We will see how she is feeling in the morning. I'm a little worried about her arm but there aren't many physical marks. We might be making a trip to the doctor in the morning. Ahhhhh....motherhood. lol

hum drum...

nothing exciting going on here. i'm waiting for fall to actually kick in. it was rather warm today. i want to break out my hoodies. lol i need to start thinking about xmas shopping, but i still need to get my kid's halloween costumes decided on first. i'm watching dateline on tv about the Katrina aftermath. it's extremely heartbreaking. i wish i were closer to help. my hubby doesn't think they would send people clear up here to stay or i would consider it. i'm donating supplies to a local organization that is making a "run" down there. i just wish i could help more. on another note, i wish i could get my scrapping groove back. i'm sitting here with groupings of possible layouts. i have the papers, embellies, ribbon, etc...but just can't seem to just throw them together. lol help! i need scrappy encouragement. :)

Thursday, September 1, 2005

Oh yippie...

I woke up with a cold coming on this morning. I noticed my daughter with the 'sniffles' a couple days ago. I should have known I would get it. Which means, the baby will get it and if anyone has had a little one...thats the worst when you can't clear your nose or throat yourself. The holiday weekend is approaching and for Auburn that means many many antique cars in town. Yep, Auburn is know for the Labor Day Auburn, Cord, Duesenburg Festival. Basically consists of wealthy older people pulling into town this week with money coming out of their ears to purchase antique autos at the 'worlds biggest antique auto auction'. We get over 300 thousand out of town guests just for a week. The cars are pretty but I'm not 'into them'. I do enjoy the fleamarkets, icecream socials, party tents, & etc. that come with the festivities. I like it because it is a sign that Fall is here. Ahhhh, my FAV-O-RITE season.

On another note, I have been watching the news lately about all the devistating happenings surrounding this hurricane, Katrina. I heard on the radio this morning that they were 'shipping' people to Houston, Texas and at some point they had to turn them away because their dome was over full! With that many people in one place with no money you don't stop and think how they are trying to figure out how to feed, cloth, care for all of them. :( I can't help but think that all of this is somehow a bigger picture of God's plan. The bigger tragic events that have been happening lately...9-11, Tsunami, Iraq, etc...what will happen next???

Wednesday is MY day...

Wednesdays are my days off from my part time job. I only work M, T, T, & F (3pm-530pm) & Sat. (8am-4pm). I enjoy my job. I work just enough to get a break from my daily routine and just enough to make me miss my family. The extra money doesn't hurt for my scrapping ventures either. lol I do tend to clean some on wednesdays but today I guess I just got lucky and my house isn't trashed. lol Not sure how that happened. I will be scrapping a little today and then going in to talk to the owner of my lss.

My weekend events...

This was the weekend that I held a suprise party for my mother. She is turning 50. It was a luau and I think it turned out well. I have plenty of photos to scrap and great memories to journal. Mom was totally suprised and tears flowed. Family came from out of town. Weather was fantastic. I spent my sunday cleaning up after the fun. Ok, I think i'm going to scrap now.

FANTASTIC!

Yep, my daugher made the swing choir! I'm totally excited for her. I had to take a photo of her daily assignment journal where she wrote a note down near the bottom that said "I made DuesenCords!" and it was highlighted in pink...too cute. I'm going to journal about her asking me to drop her off a few minutes early to the main school doors so she can go see who made the cut. So...after waiting ALL day I picked her up (not wanting to bring it up first) and waited for her to say something about it. That little brat waited several minutes and said (with a straight face) "mom, did you forget to ask me something?". I played dumb, "no, should I ask you something?". She kept on until I seen a little smirk. She MADE it! I'm super proud of her cuz she is usually so quiet and she never speaks up (certainly NOT like her mother, hehe). Not everyone made it and I can imagine how they felt and their parents! This has certainly been a great week!

Bragging rights!

oooooooooooooooh my goodness! I made a 'pit stop' at my lss today after picking up my children from school. As I was checking out I was asking the owner about some new product. I think I surprise her that I am so up to date on name brands and what is coming out, etc. Out of the blue she asks me if I'm interested in doing some design work for her. Well, what that amounted to was free product for showcasing my own layouts. My reaction....well, I wanted to drop my chin to the floor but I calmly said I would be interested. She explained that she wasn't totally set on what she needed and expected but I was the first that came to her mind. I'm on cloud nine. It's one thing to enter a contest or ask about an opportunity but to totally have someone come after you...thats a HUGE compliment! Ok, I stepped off my cloud for a bit. I have to run now, my daughter is trying out for her grade school swing choir. I'm truly nervous for her because she isn't the loudest or outgoing of all children. I encouraged her to give it all she had because they explained that not everyone would get picked. I don't want this to be the first experience of dealing with rejection. Well, there never will be a time when I'm ready for that.

How exciting!

I'm rather elated today because my hubby has a job opportunity to work for the railroad NFS! This may not seem exciting to others but when his annual income more than doubles and this produces business opportunities for us then I believe others can understand a little. We find out tomorrow if our future will change for the better. Of course I'm day dreaming of all the possibilities of getting things we have wanted and needed. Ok, I'm back to reality for a few...I'm feverishly working on a few deadlines I have with the design team I'm on. Yes, I'm a procrastinator...surprise!!! lol And...you know that rut I thought I was out of? Well, I wasn't exactly OUT. I'm getting there but It's hard to force myself to accomplish a good quality layout. uugghhh, help!?!! lol

Getting my inspiration back...

I recently created this layout. For about two months prior I had a bit of a creative block. This is my daughter, Sydnee. It describes how facinated she is with bugs. There will be more layouts to come...

Awaiting Fall...

My favorite season is Fall! Just cool enough to wear that favorite comfy hoodie and those worn out levis. I enjoy being outside more too. We have many trees in our yard so leaf raking is a continuing duty. The kids love to help (well some lol) and the dogs enjoy running through the piles. Ok, back to reality...today is the 21st and that means my baby Brody is 7 months old. He is starting to look like a little man. Each month I take his picture on the 21st. Here is todays captured moment...

Time flies...

WOW, I just turned 32! Ok, well, I did on the 16th of August. It just hit me though. lol I went to apply my makeup today and I noticed ALL my wrinkles. Sigh...I guess that is life. I got this big burst of energy to start remodling my house. My problem is that I start a project and then get interested in the next one BEFORE I'm done with the first. Hubby isn't thrilled by this. I have a 7 month old baby who is teething and crawling. I realized the other day that I was done producing children. This decision was made upon his birth but like my age thing...stuff hits me later. Well, I'm on a design team and I need to get a few projects done before this weekends up. I will share some photographs soon of different things. Maybe let you all in on how I live and what kind of messes I can produce.

Might as well put it online...

I randomly journal by hand on occasion. Seems these days I spend an abundant amount of time online. Scrapbooking has become more of a passion to me over the last couple years. I do the whole "eat, sleep, & dream" scrapbook possibilities.

Lets see...Where do I begin this blog. Do I tell you that I am happily married to my best friend, Joshua? Or that I have these three unique children? What about my desired career...Owning my own business, full fledged use of my creativy, or having to NOT worry finacially? I don't really want to do the "typical day" entry. I think I will choose to share my random thoughts on my memories or the scrapbooking industry. This is what I will do.
